If you’re a beginner looking to create your very first pot on the wheel, or an old pro looking to broaden and develop your ceramics skills and find your own artistic style, this class is for you. We’ll explore functional forms such as bowls, mugs and lidded pieces. and concentrate on the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, surface treatments and glaze techniques. Our class will be flexible based on student interests and demonstrations.
What’s Included in Your Studio Tuition:
25 lbs of Premium Clay: Your first bag of studio clay is included and ready for day one.
All-Inclusive Studio Access: Full use of community studio tools, house-formulated glazes, and all kiln firings are covered.
Complimentary Open Studio Time: Take advantage of designated, non-instructional open studio hours at our Richmond-area pottery studio throughout the week. It’s the perfect opportunity to practice the techniques learned in class, troubleshoot forms, and connect with fellow makers in our local creative community. (Open studio schedule will be finalized during our first session).
Note: Additional clay, specialty glazes, and extra firings are available for purchase. Material pricing and studio guidelines will be thoroughly reviewed during our first class session.
